"Every child should have mud pies, grasshoppers, waterbugs, tadpoles, frogs & turtles, elderberries, wild strawberries, acorns, hickory nuts, trees to climb, animals to pet, hayfields, pine cones, rocks to roll, sand, snakes, huckleberries and hornets – and any child who has been deprived of these has been deprived of the best part of his education." -Luther Burbank 1849 - 1926

Redondo Beach

Video overview of Redondo Beach
Redondo Beach is a laid back California beach community. Friendly people. Good food. And of course, the soft blue and gold of the Pacific at morning, noon and sunset. Take a look:

Redondo Beach Natural Treasures

Park Locator

Redondo Beach not only faces the Pacific beach, but it has 14 lovely city parks that feature scenic vi8ews, grass and play equipment, picnic shelters, museums, and lots of sporting facilities. And don't forget the freshwater ponds and wetlands that attract wildlife along the Pacific Flyway.

Like the ocean? Visit Czuleger Park, the scenic walkway to the International Boardwalk and Pier. The foot of Diamond Street leads you to the two acre playground at water's edge. A beautiful walkway for joggers and pedestrians, it's sometimes referred to as "Plaza Park."

The Seaside Lagoon at 200 Portofino Way features a salt water lagoon with 4 acres of playground space for both children and adults.

Want a little wilderness? Try Hopkins Wilderness Park at 1102 Camino Real for 11 acres of overnight camping and interpretive programs to immerse you in the wild side of the Los Angeles urban wilderness.
