"Every child should have mud pies, grasshoppers, waterbugs, tadpoles, frogs & turtles, elderberries, wild strawberries, acorns, hickory nuts, trees to climb, animals to pet, hayfields, pine cones, rocks to roll, sand, snakes, huckleberries and hornets – and any child who has been deprived of these
has been deprived of the best part of his education."

Wildflower Hotline for Southern California - March-May
There is nothing as inspiring as a field of California poppies stretching from horizon to horizon --- and yes, that wondrous display of brillant orange and a million shades of green is available each spring in Los Angeles County!
Theodore Payne Foundation will be starting the Wild Flower Hotline the second week of March, 2008.
This is the 26th year they've offered this service, reporting on the best wild flower displays across Southern California.
If you happen to see anything worth reporting, please let them know at info@theodorepayne.org.
The hotline number is (818) 768-3533.
They expect to run the hotline through May.
