Growing Green Tea in BackyardsGreen tea is a national treasure of Japan. We in the US are learning the differences in quality of green teas as we learn about the healthful benefits of green vs. black teas. It's interesting to learn that there are "artisan" tea growers in Japan, just like there are artisan beer breweries, cheese makers and bread makers here in the US. All these art and craft forms bring freshness and unique flavors to our tables. My nephew lives in Japan and through his information and encouragement, I'm learning about some of the interesting foods, beverages and flavors of the Japanese culture. I was intrigued by Paul Kotta, a contact through Linked In, that he is importing artisan green teas... so I'm delighted to be able to share this video with you about the process of growing ... and making local artisan green teas in backyard gardens.
